It’s like getting the air getting knocked out of your lungs.
“How could I have let this happen?”
“What’s wrong with me?”
“Why am I such a failure?”
You just looked in the mirror or tried on clothes and started panicking that you’ve gained weight.
Been there?? Ya, me too friend. The fear of gaining weight is real and absolutely awful.
It’s hard to resist thinking of all the ways you could lose weight as fast as possible (I know these things sound like a great option in the moment).
So then, what to do when you’re panicking?
Here is a quick little brain hack you can do when this fear comes up:
1️⃣ Notice the fearful/panicking thoughts. What is the voice of fear telling you that you need to do? What action is it encouraging you to take or telling you you “should” do right now?
2️⃣ Have you tried that approach before? Did it work? What was it like the last time you listened to this voice of fear? What results did it get you and how did you feel as a result of listening to it?
3️⃣ Decide if you would like to consciously choose to listen to and trust this voice. Based on where it’s led you in the past, is what the voice of fear suggesting you do right now trustworthy/productive?
4️⃣ If not, how would you like to FEEL and ACT right now instead?
5️⃣ What do you need to do in order to make that happen?
Save this to do when that moment hits or send it to a friend who may need this!
